Designed over the course more than a year on and off, this project which was my master's thesis, continues to be one of my most rewarding and potential life-changing products if brought to market. Its main purpose is to combat the increasing trend of inactive and obese children in the U.S. which has quadrupled since the 1980s resulting in 16 million children affected by this issue. By harnessing the appeal of virtual gaming so popular with children today, GOQuest aims to both teach and motivate children to be more physically active every day. The game has built in rewards to sustain the gameplay over time. Additionally, using sophisticated heart-rate monitoring and having been designed with children so that it would adequately fit into their lifestyle, GOQuest is a product that could have great impact on the health of the children and families using it. I am actively working to produce a functional prototype in order to market this idea to prospective children's product manufacturers.
